Rob Lutz, Director

A message from Rob Lutz, GA5 Director

  Dear GA5 Family -

School Volleyball Season has begun, go GA5!!  Record numbers of GA5 players made their respective school Varsity Teams, congratulations ladies all your hard work and efforts are starting to pay off for you.

Although I still can't help myself as I reflect back on the incredible 2009-2010 season.

- 77 new members were welcomed into the GA5 Family

- 14-Jenny became the first GA5 team to win a tournament championship in the Club's brief history

- We sent 4 teams to Denver (15-Tom, 16-Rob, 17-Luis and 18-Marc) - double what we did in our 1st year

- 7 teams choose to continue their seasons by an extra 10 weeks and competed in the AAU National Championships in Orlando Florida

- All 4 graduating Seniors from the 2010 Class were offered opportunites to play volleyball in College:

Becky Bourne - Lee University (TN), Daniela Cavallo - University of Alabama-Birmingham, (AL), Michaela Grass - Berry College (GA) and Kristen Holmes - Oglethorpe University (GA)

As important as all of these milestones are, let's not forget the goals and ideals this Club is founded upon. Every GA5 player has experienced adversity and met the challenge head on. Every GA5 player has made new friends and welcomed new people in their lives. Every GA5 player has been given a set of tools they will carry with them - on and off the playing surface - for the rest of their lives. Each of your daughters has learned valuable life lessons while having fun along the way.

I want to pesonally thank you all for your continued commitment to GA5 Volleyball Club. Without your time, effort and sacrifice this organization wouldn't be allowed to continue to teach young women how to be leaders.

As always, I welcome your input in shaping GA5 into an ever-growing, always-improving volleyball club, please feel free to contact me should you wish to provide additional feedback.

Thank you all again and as much as I'm welcoming a brief respite from the season, I can feel already feel the excitement growing as I think ahead to next season and the future of GA5!
